Quick overview

The short version

  • New US listings from October 28, 2026 use Depop Shipping; older Other listings retain their setting until sold.
  • Deleting and relisting an older item switches it to Depop Shipping.
  • Check each order and use its correct label, especially when packing bundles or older stock.

Depop removed Other shipping for new US listings from October 28, 2026. Older listings already set to Other keep that method until sold; deleting and relisting them switches to Depop Shipping. Depop explains the distinction in its US shipping guide.

That means an older jacket and a newly listed shirt can require different postage routines even when sold from the same shop. Start with the order receipt rather than assuming every sale now works the same way.

Which listings use which method?

Listing situationWhat to check
New US listing from October 28Depop Shipping and the label attached to its order
Older listing already using OtherIts retained manual-shipping arrangement
Older Other listing deleted and relistedThe replacement’s Depop Shipping setup

These rules are specific to the US guidance. Do not apply an Australian shipping rollout date or another country’s carrier options to a US order.

Audit a small batch before changing the whole shop

Pick ten older items and record each item’s stock code, listing URL and displayed shipping method. Keep the audit separate from the action of editing or replacing a listing.

For example, an imaginary stock sheet might show J-014 as an older manual-shipping jacket and S-022 as a new Depop Shipping shirt. Both are available, but only one order may arrive with a supplied label. That stock reference helps you keep the physical item, listing and postage routine together.

Do not delete everything merely to make the settings look consistent. First check the effect on the replacement advert, its shipping details and any other marketplace where the same item is available. Our cross-listing checklist covers the wider routine.

Open the sold order before buying postage

For a Depop Shipping order, retrieve its QR code or printable label from the sale email or sold-order screen. Tracking is connected to that service. An older Other order instead needs seller-arranged tracked postage and the tracking added to the receipt. Depop’s order instructions.

A useful packing habit is to keep one order open beside one physical parcel. Check the garment, size and stock code, then match the label to that parcel before starting the next order. Two similar mailers deserve a second look before they leave the desk.

If the order expects a supplied label but you cannot retrieve it, contact Depop with the order reference. A missing label is a reason to investigate, rather than assume the sale has changed to manual shipping.

Check mixed bundles as a separate case

Depop’s bundle guidance says a bundle mixing manual shipping and Depop Shipping receives one Depop Shipping label for all the items. Its label selection uses the combined weight for Depop Shipping bundles.

Pack the whole bundle before checking its weight. Do not assume a shirt’s original individual parcel choice covers that shirt plus a heavy sweatshirt. Compare the combined package with the order’s shipping information before handoff.

Keep dispatch deadlines separate from seller protection

Depop’s US shipping guide describes automatic cancellation after ten days without shipment. Its separate seller-protection terms require a qualifying Depop label shipment within five days, alongside other conditions. The US transaction limit is $300 including shipping and applicable taxes; a bundle counts as one transaction.

Treat neither period as a target for waiting. Pack promptly, use the required label, retain acceptance evidence and respond to any order issue through Depop. An order remaining open does not by itself establish seller-protection eligibility.

Keep one-off stock consistent across marketplaces

If the item is also offered on eBay, confirm that the other advert becomes unavailable after a sale. A postage setting and a stock-availability setting solve different problems.

If you replace an old Depop listing, record the new URL and review any cross-listing relationship you use. Our double-selling checklist explains the checks without assuming that matching titles prove two adverts represent the same item.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Can US sellers still choose Other shipping for new Depop listings?

Depop says Other is unavailable for new US listings from October 28, 2026. Listings already using Other before that date retain it until sold.

Does deleting and relisting an old item change its shipping?

Yes. Depop says deleting and relisting an older Other listing switches it to Depop Shipping.

What happens to a bundle with both shipping methods?

Depop says a mixed-method bundle is converted to Depop Shipping and receives one label covering the bundle. Check the actual order and combined parcel before dispatch.
